Chronicles Era One Top 10 Moments
Our Number 10 top 10 moment in Chronicles history... has to be the first major twist ever done in Chronicles history... the Fake Double Tribal Twist in Season One!
This was such a fun twist, while doing some season prepping I was watching some Ausvivor and saw this twist played out... and I LOVED IT! I hadn't really seen it before in the ORG community, so I figured I could get away with this twist!
In retrospect gamewise, it wasn't tooooo gamealtering.... Andi was very much screwed over, and it set up Chimp to be in a pretty good spot coming into the merge, with connections with just about everyone! I just really loved seeing the reactions as it came down, and is one of the moments I hold on too when I hit some hosting lows! IT WAS JUST SO SO SO FUN!
It ends up being a very weird turn of events.... Chimp was the clear target on the cursed Euphrates tribe, obvs gets sent over to Tigris with Andi, which ultimately screws Andi, who was in an EXCELLENT position! However, going into the merge, honestly.... had this twist not happened, some of the Tigris people likely don't get swept as hard as they do by Angel, Riley and Orlando.... less incentive for the early merge flips without Chimp and its a whole new ball game!
Our NUMBER NINE moment in Chronicles history..... The season two merge boot!
This was.... quite an interesting merge, and I remember being so so so excited watching it play out! Esentially, sides for the merge were beginning to form. On one hand you had Connor, Bee, and Thomas! On the other you had Brendan, Maddie, Pharen, Sanin, and Broden! This left Owen, who had just come back from redemption, and Amod, our masterful middle player that season!
Thomas was quickly the target from the old Remus tribe, and through various pre-merge events, Maddie and Pharen didn't take his pitch to them very well and they tell Brendan that Thomas would be good with him gone, starting the Romulus split. This creates the above sides plus Owen all down to vote Thomas. Amod, our ever aware winner, doesn't like this plan, as it consolidates the Remus majority, giving him less power in the middle. Brendan, decides he will not vote without Amod, and the Thomas plan collapses. Amod tells Bee and Thomas whats up, and they pull in Owen and Connor, using Bee's idol on Thomas
Brendan, Maddie, and Pharen realize they either vote Sanin or force a tie (technically a tie is impossible if Brendan contines to not vote with his advantage), and join the Sanin plan
Sanin however has a steal-a-vote, and is told that Brendan is now against him. Upset at this betrayal, Sanin steals Thomas's vote and votes Brendan, despite Brendan not really having much of a choice that tribal. However, Bee, thinking there are more votes on Thomas, uses her idol.
Thomas would receive no votes, as Sanin uses both his votes on Brendon, and Sanin goes!
Such a complex merge vote and this was SUCH a fun one to watch play out!
Our NUMBER EIGHT moment in Chronicles history…. THE PHAREN AND BRODEN BLINDSIDES!
The divisions in season two… were…. interesting to say the least. Continuing off of the number nine post, Owen had just gone in what was more or less a compromise vote. This left two sides: Bee and Thomas vs. Broden, Brendan, Maddie, and Pharen, leaving Amod and Connor in the middle….
The group of four thought they had Amod and Connor and this decided to split the vote between Bee and Thomas, with Thomas public enemy number one again
However, with this split, Amod realized he could consolidate his power again by voting Pharen, creating a 4-3-1 split. Unbeknownst to everyone, Brendan was still not voting because of his idol mechanics…
In addition, Maddie found the idol nullifier which he gave to Pharen, thinking Pharen was unlikely to get votes. Meaning, in the end, Pharen was sent to jury with a nullifier and an idol!
Obviously, angry Maddie and Brendan, who at this point are borderline quitting, but they decide to trust Amod AGAIN! It’s two trios against each other Bee, Connor, and Thomas v Brendan, Broden, and Maddie….
Amod realizes he can blindside Broden, a viewed FTC goat, while trick Brendan into playing his idol… and does just that!
This is the move which more or less leads Brendan and Maddie to quit the game
However, these two tribals in succession are pure gold, watching Amod just manipulate one side of the game, for now four tribals in a row… pretty impressive
Our Number SEVEN moment in Chronicles history…. Rose Idols Day S3 F6!
The merge twist this season was the Sacrificial Risk twist! Essentially, a player at random every episode would be chosen to play a game of chance! They had good odds of getting something good, but the same for getting a disadvantage!
This season eventually became advantagegeddon, with a very high number of idols, vote steals, and extra votes… Iirc, most of our merge players ended up at some point having an advantage, which well is kinda a lot.
Luis, Sadie and Zheema had united under being the big threats in the game, and were more or less stacked with advantages! At final six, it became clear they had an extra vote and well… this screws over Day, Dev and Rose.
However, the last sacrificial risk player, Rose, had just won an idol! This sets up an interesting dilemma, either save the idol for F5 to get to F4, or make a move and save Day, the perceived target, and have the majority going into F5….
Rose decides to shake up the game, and use the idol on Day. This negates 4 votes off Day….
The big move comes with who they choose to vote, Zheema. Zheema was more or less controlling the game, in the eyes of the players in the game.
With that, Zheema is blindsided in one of the best blindsides we’ve had in Chronicles history!
Alright! We’re getting there!!!!
Our Number SIX moment in Chronicles history….. Owen’s Redemption Run!
Redemption Island is tricky, one mistake and any chance of coming back into the game disappears. Owen, victim of our second tribal council in Season Two, was sent to Redemption to attempt to fight his way back in….
And boy did he fight…. Owen won every single redemption matchup, to eventually earn his way back into the game! It was quite an impressive feat, and he earned his spot in the merge and on the jury!
Sadly, he would never be able to regain his footing, as he became an easy compromise vote between the two sides forming in the game, but he has set quite the precedent for redemptions moving forward……
OUR FIFTH PLACE, coming into our fifth season haha, is… S3’s First Tribal Council!
I know, probably a surprise, but it really set the tone for an advantage heavy season with the most influential twists we’ve had yet!
Our premergers had two twists, both of which would come into play here… First, the messenger twist. The winning tribes were able to elect someone via a secret vote as to who would go to the losing tribe. They would be immune, but can vote, holding strong sway in who goes. The other twist was the llama drama twist, where players could anonymously send a message to everyone, in an effort to stir the pot!
Jay represented the Mama Quilla tribe, and came to the losing Pachamama tribe with one mission: stir shit up…. and boy did he do so!
Jay was quickly able to read that the most active/social players Alfa, Day, and Joel were likely working together, and figured they probably had an alliance. Because Llama Drama worked based off the tribe you were currently on, any message Jay would send would appear to be from the Pachamama tribe! So, Jay sent a message telling everyone that he knew about Joel’s alliance, sending the tribe into a panic!
The majority alliance of a couple hours quickly collapsed, and Pachamama became a dysfunctional tribe where no one trusted each other!
The icing on the cake? Joel had found the Pachamama Idol, and ended up using it, making it the earliest an idol has ever been played!
Brendon would go as the tribe decision, but this chaotic tribal would set the tone for this very chaotic season! This is easily one of my favorite premerge tribals, and this is the type of episode ones i love to see, not the easy votes
Our number FOUR moment is.... S4: Amod Exposes the Tribe at Merge!
Coming into the season, Amod sadly really never stood a chance. As the only winner to play in our All Stars season, he immediately had such a big target on his back. In addition, his S2 win was quite a dominant victory, putting many of the other castaways on edge about him and his game....
So how did this all come about? At the previous double tribal council, Sanin was voted out, blindsiding Amod, who felt betrayed by Nick and had clear enemies now in Day, JT, Nick, and Thomas, who all voted for Sanin.
However, at the merge, Amod, using Rose's keys, was able to determine that Nick had the idol! This was because Nick did not lie about the places he had searched, thus revealing to Amod that Nick knew where the chest was, and with that, the idol!
Quickly after Chelsea won the challenge, the four of Day, JT, Nick, and Thomas made it their mission to finally get Amod out of the game. Ironically, Amod would target Sephy, in an attempt to get the target off himself, an onto a perceived easier target. However, when Sephy was told the plan to get Amod out, Sephy was actually the one to give Amod the heads up that he was getting targetted.
Realizing he was going and had virtually nothing to lose, Amod more or less called a tribe meeting, and began his exposition fest! Using his search information, he revealed to everyone that Nick did have an idol and exposed the what should've been an obvious alliance but wasn't for some reason alliance of Day, JT, Nick, and Thomas. Meanwhile, half of the tribe is anxiously live tweeting their reactions to the exposition fest, most notable Abe and Chelsea, who both seemed to be loving every minute of this!
Despite sealing Amod's fate, he did set a target on Nick, exposing him for having the idol which everyone would soon forget in about three tribals, so good job Nick for shaking that one off lol
Our number THREE moment.... S1: Advantageddon Tribal
Oh boy.... I'm not gonna lie, this is in my top two favorite tribals to host.... with another tribal potenitally ahead.... I'm too indecisive....
Okay... so Season One had some pretty.... interesting "sides" and I'm not gonna lie.... looking back at it sometimes I question why people allied but whatever.... Essentially there was the Angel and Co. side of Angel, Evan, Orlando, and Riley on one side of this tribe, and JT and Outlaw on the other, with chimp and Noah on the other. However, these sides are REALLY weird and wishy washy, Evan is and isn't with the others at the same time, Outlaw was just upset being left out of the previous vote, and everyone knew chimp and Noah were playing both sides....
Riley had found the Safety without Power advantage, felt his side had the numbers, and had some IRL things that day, so Riley dipped for tribal! This would be advantage number one!
JT had an idol, and spent a LONGGGG time debating using the idol, to which he would find out from Outlaw that he was in fact getting votes. However, if they had chimp and Noah, they'd be set given it would be a 4-3 vote and avoid the tie, no idol necessary. Noah was against Angel so Noah joined that side, and chimp was the deciding vote.
However, it wouldn't really mattter? Because chimp didn't reassure JT that chimp was with him.... and JT genuinely had the votes to stay! So..... JT plays his idol. JT and Co. had voted for Evan while Evan and Co. had voted for JT....
However..... SURPRISE! Evan had an idol! And obviously plays his idol when JT plays his.... So now we're at THREE advantages..... all played in the same 4 hour period..... jeezzzzz
HOWEVER AGAIN, OUTLAW had the Idol Nulifier! And despite being upset about having it, decides out of the blue to play it, as Evan had not told anyone he had the idol.... and well.... Outlaw was right in playing it. He cancelled Evan's idol, and Evan would go in a 4-0* vote.....
This was such a messy vote, going into tribal, I wasn't sure if the idols were going to be played, and it was just a hot mess, a fun one, but a hot mess nonetheless!
Alright! Our number TWO moment….. S4: Final Five Riley gets Cirie’d kinda
So, by some strange luck, everyone who had found an idol this season made the Final Five. This was Dev, Mel, and Nick. Only Nick’s idol was viewed as public knowledge albeit, kinda forgotten, as Dev and Mel’s idols were more or less kept a secret.
Dev was clearly on the outs of this tribe to begin with, as the other four were an alliance, however, Nick was the glue that kept this group together of Chelsea, Mel, Nick, and Riley. Chelsea and Mel had been at odds for most of the season, and Riley was wishy washy with Chelsea.
Because of this, Chelsea and Riley appeared to be the more likely targets of this tribal, rather than Dev as people were looking to set themselves up for FTC, rather than making F4 and FTC…..
Mel won immunity, so she technically would not have to use her idol and originally decided it was best not to.
The alliance of four decide together they want to go for Dev. However, Chelsea doesn’t want everyone on Dev, as Dev is likely to vote for her in the event of an idol! (All true lol). Chelsea tells Nick she will be throwing a vote on Riley to give her a chance if she does get a vote from Dev. This would cause a 3*-1-1 revote between Chelsea and Riley!
However, our middleman himself, Nick, tells Mel and Riley what Chelsea plans to do, and they decide to all go on Chelsea.
Now this is things start to get weird! Nick wanted this, but also wants Chelsea to stay! If he gets the votes stacked on Chelsea and then idols her, they control who goes! It would not matter if Dev played an idol, as Chelsea’s sole vote against Riley would send him gone!
As the vote nears, Mel decides to try to get a vote on Nick, seeing him as a large threat to win the game, but Chelsea and Riley tell Nick this, making the next tribal interesting…..
Right before I open tribal, Nick gives Chelsea his idol. This is arguably one of the most bold moves, not using the idol on yourself at Final Five and giving it to someone else…. OOF
Mel was the last to vote, and thinks that Chelsea is voting Riley and Dev, Nick and Riley are voting Chelsea. In the event of an idol, stray vote, or tie, it made more sense for Mel to throw a vote on Riley
However, the true vote was…. Chelsea voted Dev, Mel voted Riley and the others voted Chelsea!
Chelsea reveals her idol first, which prompts simultaneous nervousness from the F5 and some of the most excited jurors I’ve seen in Chronicles! However, none realize that Chelsea’s idol is Nick’s, and assume that Nick somehow never found the idol despite Amod proving he did earlier lol
Dev goes next, which does the exact same effect, much more amplified however.
Mel realizes she has the last idol, and if she idols either Nick or Riley the other is for sure going, despite the votes. So, Mel idols Nick, sealing Riley’s fate!
Logistically this was a weird one, because technically Riley was cirie’d, but Mel voted for him, so count that as a Cirie or not based off your own definition!
This was a very very fun tribal to host! And I have to say, with the exception of Mel, there was a time I thought everyone on this tribe was going, and the jury reactions made this SOOOOO much better!
SUCH a fun kinda close to All Stars/FTC! Alright, tomorrow is number one! Any thoughts? I’ll also reveal some other fun moments that didn’t quite make the cut!
OUR NUMBER ONE MOMENT
IS…..
S3: FTC TIE!!!
This was a highlight and surprise of the season! Going in, this was an FTC where none of us had any clue where the vote was going. We had three very deserving finalists, after a chaotic season!
iirc, i didn’t realize we would have a tie until half an hour before the finale, where i then had to ensure Rose would be on for the finale, without giving her the heads up as to what was going on!
And tbh, I thought given the way Day and Rose were allied, i anticipated the vote going the other way to Day!
Clearly Sadie has a thing for stressful ftc wins, as she has, to my knowledge, now been in two ftc ties??
Well with that, that concludes our Top 10 Moments, officially leaving the to be named first era! Hope this was semi enjoyable for you all!!!
